Once again, this event is being covered by Our Dogs Canine Press, with an article including photo’s appearing in “Our Dogs Canine Press” shortly after the event. Just in time for Crufts. If you would like to celebrate your qualifying or placing in this Contest, please speak to the photographer to book your place on arrival. Your photo can then be included within the article. QUALIFICATIONS - SAINT BERNARD OF THE YEAR 2026
Special VETERAN COMPETITION (Age Restricted) – for dogs aged 6 years and over on the day of the Contest. All those placed 1st-3rd in any breed classes at ALL Breed Club and General Championship shows, including Breed Club Open Shows, and General Championship Shows whether CCs.
Green Stars, Reserve Green Stars or CACIB’s or CIA’s are on offer or not. Veterans that have won BOB at a Premier Open Show. In addition, any Veteran that holds a stud book number, irrespective of when the dog or bitch was last shown, will be eligible to enter the competition. Champions excepted.
Special PUPPY COMPETITION (Age restricted) - for dogs aged between 6mths–15mths, must not exceed 15mths on the day of the Contest. All those places 1st—3rd in Baby Puppy, Minor Puppy and Puppy classes, at all Breed Club Open Shows Championship shows and General Championship
shows, wither CC’s, Green stars, CACIB’s or CIA’s are on offer or not. All those holding a stud book number, Plus, Puppy’s that have won BOB at Premier Open Show
YEARLING COMPETITION (Age Restricted) - for dogs aged between 12mths - 24 mths on the day of the Contest . Dogs must not exceed 24months on the day of the Contest. Winners of Challenge Certificates, CACIB and Green Stars, Reserve Challenge Certificate, Reserve CACIB, CIAs and Reserve Green Stars at all Breed Club Championship Shows, General Championship Shows whether the above awards are on offer or not. All those holding a stud book number, Plus, ALL those that have won BOB at a Premier Open Show. Plus, ALL 1st-3rd winners at any of the above.
ADULT COMPETITION - Winners of Challenge Certificates, CACIB, CIA’s and Green Stars, Reserve Challenge Certificate, Reserve CACIB’s & CIA’s and Reserve Green Stars at all Breed Club Championship Shows, General Championship Shows whether the above awards are on offer or not. Plus, all those holding a stud book number. All those that have won BOB at a Premier Open Show. Plus, ALL 1st-3rd winners at any of the above shows.
You may only enter one section with each dog.
Please Note: No live streaming is allowed. The video of the event will be placed on the clubs Facebook page asap. Although we welcome those that wish to take photo’s throughout the event, may we respectively remind you, NO photos to be taken from within the walled area without express permission of the chief steward.
The Annual Dinner / Dance and Presentations
The Club’s Annual Dinner and Presentation 2026 will be held once again following the Saint Bernard of the Year Contest. This is a Black Tie event. (lounge Suits accepted) A menu is included at the top of this page for your perusal for Saturday nights dinner. With new surprises, the evening will once again be full of fun and laughter. Our fabulous raffle will be once again be taking place. Please remember if you have any special dietary needs or seating arrangements include them on the relevant menu form, along with the group organisers name, telephone number and e-mail. (clearly printed). If paying by Cheque, payment for the correct amount must be made out to the English St Bernard Club and be enclosed with ALL relevant forms, photos etc. BACS and IBAN details can be found on the relevant forms and below. Please follow the instruction for entry etc and payments either by BACS or Cheque. A very limited number of catalogues will be available to purchase on the day. Please pre-order yours at the reduced price on the entry form to avoid disappointment. Unfortunately we ran out last year. Whilst we welcome non-members to attend all functions, Members do receive a generous Members Discount, it’s really worth joining the club! See entry form for details.
Friday 30th Jan: The Menus can be found if required on the Hotel’s web site. If you require a table with in the restaurant? Please book direct with the hotel. You do not have to pre-book Bar meals, they will be available . Come and join us all for drinks in the bar from 8pm onwards.
St Bernard of the Year 31st Jan 26: The entry form can be found in the schedule. Please read the Qualifications for each section. Entries close 20.01.26 with NO extensions. Please remember to email your photo, entry form and any menu choices to the secretary, immediately after your BACS payment is made. Please remember THE EARLY BIRD DISCOUNTS available to all members who have entered their dog by midnight 31st December 2025.
Dinner/Dance Saturday 31st Jan: With entries for SBOTY closing on 20. 01.2026 promt! Bookings for the Dinner/Dance/Presentations can also only be accepted up to 20.01.2026. There will be no extensions to these dates. Dinner: Members £40:00 per head Non-Members £45:00 per- head. IF YOU ARE ATTENDING THE DINNER/DANCE WITH OUT ENTERING THE COMPETITION Please read instruction for payment.
Hotel: We have once again negotiated a special rate of £85 for rooms with breakfast for those that wish to stay overnight.. Hotel bookings can ONLY be booked through “THE WESTON HALL HOTEL ” on 02476312989. Please check which type/size room you are booking. Please make sure it’s the type/size room you require. Please book early to avoid disappointment. We were full last year.
Payment: For payment of Entries to the Contest & Dinner/Dance, please read instructions on reverse of schedule. Remember closing date for the Contest is 20.01.26. Dinner/Dance tickets must be pre booked by this date. Please do not leave it to the last minute as we may be over subscribed again.
